Local Pressure Washing Companies
Local pressure washing companies provide exterior cleaning services using high-pressure water systems to remove dirt, algae, mold, and weathering from decks, siding, driveways, and other outdoor surfaces. If you're searching for pressure washing in Ottawa, you're looking for a contractor who understands your home or property and delivers quality results without cutting corners. GlassWing window cleaning is a locally-owned business that serves Ottawa and the surrounding areas with pressure washing alongside window cleaning, gutter cleaning, and exterior maintenance-all backed by a genuine commitment to respect, professionalism, and eco-friendly practices.
When you're ready to have your property cleaned, you want to work with people who show up on time, treat your home with care, and use methods that won't harm your landscaping or the environment. That's the difference GlassWing brings to pressure washing work in Ottawa. Founded by Zane Cody and Jennifer Haynes, the company was built on the principle that exterior cleaning shouldn't be stressful for the homeowner or damaging to the planet. You'll get personalized attention from someone who actually owns the business, not just a call center operator scheduling your appointment.
What makes pressure washing different from other cleaning methods?
Pressure washing uses a focused, high-velocity stream of water to strip away years of buildup in a way that scrubbing or gentle washing simply cannot match. Because the water pressure does the heavy lifting, you avoid the need for harsh chemical solvents on many surfaces. This makes it ideal for decks that have turned gray from mold and algae, concrete driveways stained by oil and dirt, and exterior siding that's lost its shine to weathering and grime.
The key difference between pressure washing and other methods is speed and effectiveness. A homeowner with a garden hose might spend an entire weekend and still not achieve results that pressure washing delivers in a few hours. GlassWing brings commercial-grade equipment to residential and commercial properties throughout Ottawa, meaning your deck or siding gets cleaned properly the first time. The work is also safer-climbing a ladder to scrub vertical surfaces is a real risk, whereas pressure washing keeps technicians on stable ground.
That said, pressure washing isn't one-size-fits-all. Softer surfaces like certain types of wood siding or composite decking require lower pressure settings to avoid damage. Experienced companies like GlassWing adjust water pressure and nozzle types based on what they're cleaning, protecting your investment while achieving excellent results.
When should you hire local pressure washing companies in Ottawa?
The best time to schedule pressure washing depends on what you're cleaning and why. Homeowners in Ottawa often call for pressure washing in spring, after winter has left behind salt stains, mold growth, and general grime. Summer is another busy season, especially for deck cleaning before entertaining guests or preparing the property for open houses. Fall can be ideal too, since cleaning before winter prevents ice and mold buildup that can cause damage.
You should call for pressure washing when you notice visible dirt, algae, or mold on exterior surfaces-not just for aesthetics, but for maintenance. Mold and algae don't just look bad; they can damage wood and composite materials over time if left untreated. If you're preparing a home for sale or an open house in Ottawa, pressure washing the exterior is one of the highest-impact improvements you can make for the cost. Real estate agents recommend it because curb appeal matters tremendously, and clean siding, driveways, and entryways tell potential buyers that the property has been well-maintained.
Clean exterior surfaces make an immediate impression-whether you're selling, entertaining, or simply taking pride in your home. Pressure washing removes years of buildup in hours, protecting your investment and boosting curb appeal.
Busy professionals without time for DIY maintenance also use pressure washing as part of regular property care. Rather than letting dirt accumulate year after year, scheduling annual or bi-annual cleaning keeps your home looking fresh and extends the life of exterior materials.
What surfaces can be safely pressure washed?
Most exterior surfaces can be pressure washed with the right technique and equipment settings. Concrete driveways, patios, and sidewalks are excellent candidates-they're tough and respond beautifully to pressure washing. Composite decks, wood decks, vinyl siding, brick, stucco, and metal surfaces can all be cleaned, though each requires slightly different approaches to avoid damage.
The difference between a good outcome and a costly mistake often comes down to pressure settings. Soft wood, for example, needs lower pressure to prevent gouging or splintering. Vinyl siding can be damaged by excessive pressure, and delicate surfaces like stone pavers require care. This is why working with experienced professionals in Ottawa matters. GlassWing's technicians know which settings work for which materials, preventing the kind of damage you might cause with a pressure washer you rent yourself.
There are limits. Thin stucco, certain types of painted surfaces, and some older materials shouldn't be pressure washed at all. A professional contractor will assess your property and recommend the safest approach, or suggest alternative cleaning methods if pressure washing isn't appropriate. That expertise-knowing when to pressure wash and when not to-protects your property and your wallet.
How does eco-friendly pressure washing work?
Eco-friendly pressure washing means using biodegradable cleaners when needed and conservation techniques that limit water waste. It's not just about the products; it's about respecting the environment while still delivering excellent results. GlassWing uses water-conservation techniques throughout Ottawa, ensuring that the job gets done without unnecessary runoff or waste.
In many cases, plain water and appropriate pressure settings are enough to clean surfaces thoroughly. When cleaners are needed, biodegradable options break down naturally without harming soil, plants, or local waterways. This approach matters especially in communities around Ottawa where storm drains lead to natural water systems. By using responsible methods, GlassWing protects the community while cleaning your property.
If you're environmentally conscious, you can feel good about pressure washing your home-it doesn't have to mean harsh chemicals or excessive water use. The approach matters, and that's something a locally-owned company like GlassWing prioritizes because the owners live in the same community they serve.
When you're ready to have your decks, siding, driveway, or other exterior surfaces professionally cleaned, reach out to GlassWing Window Cleaning. You can discuss your project, ask questions about methods and timing, and learn how pressure washing can refresh your home or commercial property in Ottawa. They're here to help, and they're just a message away.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does pressure washing cost in Ottawa?
Pressure washing costs in Ottawa depend on the size of the area, the type of surface, and how heavily soiled it is. Decks, driveways, and siding each have different pricing considerations. Contact GlassWing directly with photos or details of your project for an accurate estimate.
Can pressure washing damage my deck or siding?
Pressure washing can damage soft materials if the pressure is set too high or the wrong nozzle is used. Professional contractors like GlassWing adjust pressure and equipment based on your specific surface-wood, composite, vinyl, or brick-to clean safely without causing harm.
Is pressure washing safe for plants and landscaping?
Yes, when done by experienced professionals. GlassWing uses eco-friendly approaches and water-conservation techniques that protect your landscaping. Direct communication before the job ensures plants and garden areas are covered or avoided as needed.
How often should I have my deck and siding pressure washed?
Most homeowners benefit from pressure washing annually or every two years, depending on climate and how quickly mold and algae return in your area. Ottawa's seasons can accelerate buildup, so spring cleaning or pre-winter maintenance are common times to schedule this service.

SERVICES
ECO-FRIENDLY
We’re doing everything we can to be positive contributors to our beautiful city and the environment.
Biodegradable Cleaners
We use an orange-peel based pressure wash cleaning fluid that we use to clean your siding or walls with first before breaking out the pressure washer. The orange peel cleaner is biodegradable and 100% eco-friendly (and does an amazing job breaking down dirt).
Low Water Usage
We have adopted the process of cleaning exterior walls with our orange-peel soap and a mop before power washing. This creates a much cleaner surface than pressure washing alone, it allows us to not have to use the full power of a pressure washer (which can damage your siding), and we use much less water, which is great for the environment and the city’s water usage. All our soaps and cleaning materials we use for windows are biodegradable and include zero phosphates.
Soy Based Inks
All of our printed materials, business cards, brochures, receipts, etc are printed on recycled papers using soy based inks (no oil based inks).
Sensible Vehicle
We need a truck to transport our equipment from job to job, but that doesn’t mean we need to drive a huge gas-guzzling monster truck. Our vehicles are compact pick-ups. They’re great on gas.
